Chivalry is Dead

I beg to differ Sire! According to the Round Table Knights chivalry is still very much in existence. I first came across RTK after hearing a remix they did and being completely blown away by it! Not only was I blown away, but everyone (with any decent music taste haha) I played it for experienced love at first sight (with their ears duh). Embrace the Martian made famous by Kid Cudi is the track I am referring to. You can find it below of course!

So back to RTK, I just bought their album from BeatPort and I wanted to share a few thoughts about it. At first listen some of the songs just don't sit right at first but after a 2nd round it comes around much more nicely. They list themselves as Disco/Psychodelic/Surf! It's amazing how people can do such a good job describing their music because that is spot on. The things I love about this album is the usage of so many small noises that just tickle you and keep you smiling or nodding your head. A lot of interesting instrumentals and I feel like they were live instrumentals which is always a plus in my book. Keeping the listeners interest is what matters the most obviously, and although the tracks sometimes feel a bit too repetitive they always do a wonderful of creating a drop you want to dance to. Below is a super official compilation of many of the tracks. I think All Night and collectively all of the short songs less than 2 minutes are my fave. Check them out...

High on weed Low on dubs

/\/\/\/\ DUBS /\/\/\/\

Yesterday Kid Cudi released an old track created a few years ago but never hit the waves for some reason. It's a Bob Dylan sample which Cudi uses to explain the highs and lows he has experienced during his life. Break ups, money situs, rims, weed, the legal system, loneliness and everything a man needs in his life to be called... well, a Man. Super feel good track, roll it up and light it if you'd like. Oooor pour it easy over some ice cubes and sip on it. Oooor twist shower knobs and let it pour on your head.

Fun fact: Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi is the Kid's legal name.

Thing that make me feel:

Whoa Whoa Whoa

Just spotted this over at Pigeons and Planes
and I have to say that I am pleasantly suprised. LOL SUGAR RAY. I know this song has been remixed and covered over 2 million times, but I can't pass this up. Below is also a newish Rich Hill and Cudi joint, with what sounds like an awesome harp loop. If I could change anything, I would take Hill outta the equation and put in musique soulchild, Ye, and the Dream. Just a thought.

And you best believe he's got two capital letters in his first name

LOL Reading Raindow. 1st off new Mickey Factz and Kid Cudi banger followed up by a track off of Mos Def's new album Esctatic, which is out now depending on where you look for it. And at last, although not a huge fan of him, some new Charles Hamilton, where he spits some depressing shit but I like both the beat and CH on it. Happy Friday everyone.

Get Pumped What's Good?!?!?!

Recently I posted a Dj Lova stamped piece of merchandise and realized that many people didn't actually know what the fuck it was used for. So here it is again in all of it's glory, Dj Lova edition slipmats, they sit under the vinyl's on the turntables so that you can scritch and scratch.

I'm feeling super pump up right now for certain reason I can't really disclose but let's just say there's blood flowin' here. SO to commemorate this occasion let's have a Crookers post!!
The crookers is composed of two people and these people are dirty. So dirty in fact that their songs make you sweat, and grind and butt slappin, ball flapin. No but forreal, Crookers have a unique sound to them as you're about to hear. It's glitchy, and the sounds are like you've never heard before. Open your ears people, lets do it...

I'll ignore the fact that he's supposely a douchebag. a big one.
New Cudi, flow sounds like if Juicy J(3 6 Mafia) could actually rap.
Daps and Pounds - Kid Cudi

And as if this song has been played or remixed enough, here is another remix out of Philly, by Chiddy Bang, which is reworked extremely well in my opinion.

This is Diploooo

Let's start this off by noting that some people in this world are trully meant to do one thing and when they find it they will become amazing at whatever it is that they do. There are a few people I can think of that are now doing their destined tasks in this world but I can tell you for sure that Diplo is indeed in the spot he is destined to be in. The style he produces is trully unique and has helped create some of the most impressive work that is consistently delivering such lethal doses. Literally catching your attention every 8 bars that pass keeping it so fresh in between. Each noise is incredibly appropriate to each song and nothing seems out of place. The production is slightly rough but that is exactly what gives it such a unique presence during your session with each song. I've been extremely pleased with every song present on this album and I recommend that for your well being that you hit play the entire way through this album. To better explain this I'll let his actual work do the speaking for me, it really is the best option at this point.

Read the press review for Diplo and understand how accomplished he is so far ::: Here :::

Below you fill find a series of songs that have all done their part in explaining diplo's exquisite style. Unlike many artists that you will find out in our vast pool of musicians, not many are able to adapt to many genre's of music. This flexibility ensures that there is something that Diplo has worked on that you will find accommodating and appropriate. You will find a diplo produced album that is much different from the selection below. M83 - Skin of the Night

Poke Her Face- Kid Cudi ft. Kanye & Common

New Cudi, Ye, & Common, artwork and song courtesy of Ye.
Assuming it's Ye on production, flipping Gaga's Poker Face.
I'm also taking this opportunity to drop some other Cudi
joints that have been getting play recently.

Please try to catch him, the Kid that is

If Kid Cudi hasn't grabbed your attention yet then you need to dedicate 3:32 minutes of your time to the track that's posted below. I don't know if this talk about him retiring is true or not but I surely hope it resembles something close to Jay-Z's retirement.

Kanye Tells His Stories

As much as people weren't really prepared for the style Kanye brought in 808's & Heartbreak it has inspired a much needed movement and growth of ingenuity and originality in the music industry. Of course Kanye didn't do it all by himself. Artists such as Kid Cudi and Animal Collective have been experimenting with their sound and they are now starting to take music in an entirely new direction that really inspires the best in all of us.

I want to auto-tune my entire life?

Anyway's below you will find a series of videos from the VH1 show called Storytellers. Kanye spills some of the reasoning behind his latest album and reworks songs in ways you would never expect. Check out all the videos here. I think I like Touch the Sky the best. There are 7 more videos on the VH1 site.

Welcome To Heartbreak video

New video out with Kanye and Kidi Cudi
WELCOME TO HEARBREAK BITCH

KANYE WEST "Welcome To Heartbreak" Directed by Nabil from nabil elderkin on Vimeo.

Leave your comments about what you think about the heartbreak album
I've got my opinion already

Embrace the Martian

Regardless of how much of a tool Kanye is right now, wow no homo. Protege and G.O.O.D. artist Kid Cudi is doing it biggggg. Different from the first listen, hence "embrace the martian", Kid Cudi is nevertheless a great listen either in the car, house speakers or headphones.

Think of him as the guy that should have been singing on 808's and Heartbreak, even though yes, I do think it was a solid album.

First up is literally audio crack(im not lying), in the form of electro group Crooker's remix of "Embrace the Martian", off of the mixtape: a Kid named Cudi. Which becomes increasingly hard to stop listening to after each play. And to finish it off here is a slower paced but equally dope cut off of a Kid named Cudi. Both songs have been out for a while now, just want to make sure that these reach as may ears as possible.
